Effective July 1, 2011 Mystic Air Quality Consultants training fees must begin to include a CT State sales tax of 6.35%
Please add this tax to prices posted on our training page, unless you are an employee of a not-for-profit instituion
or a governmental agency or entity.
All other services will also include this sales tax after July 1, 2011.
National Presentations by Mystic Air Quality in 2012
Mystic Air Quality Consultants will be presenting two programs in March 2012 in California as part of two international conferences.
In San Diego, Mystic Air will present at the Environmental Information Association Conference. The topic will be updating and rejuvenating asbestos contractor and consultant annual refresher training mandated by the EPA Model Accreditation Program (MAP).
In Manhattan Beach, Mystic Air will present at the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization conference. The topic will be protecting your loved ones from asbestos exposure at home, in the workplace and in public buildings, especailly through public awareness, civic action, management programs and during and after asbestos abatements.
NEW SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS: Economic Justic List
Mystic Air Quality is casting its vote this Election Day (November 8, 2011) for Economic Justice.
Beginning on November 8, 2011, Mystic Air Quality Consultants will use this page of its website to post the names and locations of contractors, facility owners, governmental, municipal, private or public institutions, homeowners, property managers, training participants and any other customers of various categories who have repeatedly refused to pay the invoices sent for services rendered and /or who have otherwise ignored their fiscal obligations to Mystic Air.
The pupose of this Economic Justice List is to ensure in the current financial climate that our valued clients can choose not to engage services for or form or provide services to these persons and business entitites lest they too find themselves in financial hardship as a result.

to conduct renovation, repair, and painting activities pursuant to
Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (15 U.S.C. 2682)
specifically for
the Lead RRP Renovator Initial 8 hour program
and for the Lead RRP Renovator Refresher 4 hour program

Here's more information about US EPA Renovation, Remodeling and Painting Rule (so-called R.R.P.)
As of summer 2011 ...
Federal EPA considerations now expand the requirements for those who renovate, remodel or paint facilities or parts of buildings which are defined as "child occupied facilities" (COFs). Those requirements include training of Lead Renovators in supervisory positions, who then may return to their companies and train the working staff - or companies can elect to have certified training companies train all staff members.
"Child occupied facilities" are those that meet all of the criteria listed below, including but not limited to homes, offices, schools, day cares, nursery and pre-schools or any other buildings:
(a) built prior to 1978
(b) where paints or coatings have not yet been tested for lead identification or
where there are leaded paints or coatings
(c) in which children under the age of six are present
1. at least on two different days of the week
2. provided that each day's visit last at least three hours
and
3. the combined annual visits last at least sixty hours.
The refresher training of a half-day's duration is suitable for certification for those who already have either Lead Abatement training and hold state accreditation or who have taken a HUD Lead Safe Work Practices program.
