MOLD SOLUTIONS FOR SCHOOLS

This is a special course for school personnel responsible for overall maintenance of building facilities and business management, as well as for the members of the custodial and maintenance staff who work diligently to keep facilities clean and HVAC equipment functioning at maximum levels of efficiency.

Administrative and business employees take the first day of the course only, typically.

Staff members who perform custodial and maintenance tasks take both days of the course.

Day One:  Background data and managing mold.  Troubleshooting and creating solutions for school opening readiness. Personal protective equipment and health effects and respiratory protection requirements and recommendations. Avoiding asbestos containing materials and lead painted surfaces in the school environment. This day is for program administrators, directors of buildings and grounds and heads of maintenance and custodial activities.  This day is also attended by those employees who are going to perform cleaning procedures.

Day Two:   Hands-on training for cleaning surfaces that will stay in place and will not cause disturbance to asbestos containing materials or lead painted surfaces. (For school environments where construction materials have to be removed, the appropriate level of training is the 3 day mold remediation course [above]. Disturbance of asbestos containing materials or lead painted surfaces requires certifications for asbestos abatement or O&M training and lead safe work practices for lead.  See information for those course on this web site under "training").

Price for Day One only $ 145 each participant

Price for Two Day program  $ 295 each participant

MYSTIC  AIR  QUALITY  ALTERS  LEAD  TRAINING  CERTIFICATION

(Groton)    Renowned training provider, Mystic Air Quality Consultants, announced here today that in

order to meet market demand, the company's certification by the State of Connecticut for providing

lead training is altered for the three year certification period of May 2004 through May 2007.  The company

has dropped its certification for presenting the initial 5 day Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor course

and has received reinstatement to present the 3 day Lead Inspector training program, instead.

The company's currently published calendar of lead training has been amended

to reflect the change in certification.

Lead-Based Paint Poisoning Prevention in Certain Residential Structures

There have been changes to federal laws to help prevent childhood lead poisoning that affect all target housing1 that is:

     · federally owned (including federal agencies other than HUD such as DOD),

     · federally funded (including loans backed by federal mortgage insurance), or

     · receiving other federal funds or rental assistance.

Since September 15, 2000, all target housing previously mentioned has been required to conduct some level of lead risk assessment or mitigation of lead hazards that are or may be present. Additionally, renovations and rehabilitation of these properties may require some level of HUD/EPA sponsored training for anyone performing the work.

Assessments of potential hazards may range from simple appraisal of defective painted surfaces to full inspection and risk assessment for the presence of lead hazards, regardless of whether previous inspections or assessment have been performed.

Lead hazard reduction requirements may include:

     · full abatement of all lead-based paint by EPA accredited persons,

     · interim controls to eliminate lead hazards,

     · paint film stabilization,

     · on-going lead-based paint maintenance, or

     · supervised lead-safe work practices during rehabilitation or renovation.

Mystic Air Quality has positioned itself to provide the necessary inspection, risk assessment, lead hazard reduction and maintenance training, and consulting services for project design and monitoring and property management of housing units that contain lead-based paint or other potential lead hazards.

Mystic Air Quality also conducts seminars designed to enlighten the regulated community - contractors, reality groups, property managers, and department of health and code enforcement officials - about these requirements.
